Tegoprazan is a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H?/K?-ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells. It is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers. Compared to traditional proton pump inhibitors, tegoprazan has a faster onset and more sustained acid suppression.
